Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The flash point is determined to be -28 °C at 1013 hPa.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
-28 °C

Additional information

The flash point is determined in a weight-of-evidence approach of an experimental study and two secondary sources. All values derived from these sources fit together. The experimental result is considered as the most valid source considering data about determination. Therefore this value is chosen as key value for chemical safety assessment.

The flammability of liquids is derived from its flash and boiling point.

The determined endpoints met the criteria for the classification of the substance as flammable liquid Cat. 1, H 224 according to regulation EC/1272/2008. The determined flash point (-28 °C) and boiling point (31.5 °C) fit the criteria for extremely flammable liquids. The flash point should be < 23 °C and the boiling point < 35 °C.

Furthermore the determined endpoints lead to a classification as R12 according to directive 67/548/EEC. The flash point should be < 0 °C and the boiling point < 35 °C.
