Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The boiling point of the test item was determined to be 178.8 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Boiling point at 101 325 Pa:
178.8 °C

Additional information

The boiling point was determined according to Regulation EC No. 440/2008 Method A.2. and OECD Test Guideline 103 (1995).

The boling point was determined by differential scanning calorimetry. During the heating phase a distinct endothermic effect was observed in the temperature range of 80 - 220 °C, which can be assigned to the boiling of the test item. The lowest measured onset temperature is corrected to the standard pressure to be 178.35 °C and the highest onset temperature to be 179.32 °C.

As the corrected onset temperatures in both tests deviate by less than 0.5 K from their mean value of 178.84 °C, the test item has a boiling point of 178.8 °C. No further thermal effects were observed up to the test end temperature of 500 °C.
