Additional information

The explosive properties of the substance were evaluated by means of the Read Across approach.

The Similar Substance 01 share with the target substance the same core structure with a different grade of solphonation. The complete justification for the Read Across is attacched at section 13. The test was conducted following Richtlinie 79/831/EWG, Anhang V (BASF, 1984). The substance is not sensitive neither under the effect of flame nor to shock and to friction

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to the CLP regulation  (EC n. 1272/2008): an explosive substance or mixture is a solid or liquid substance or mixture of substances which is in itself capable by chemical reaction of producing gas at such a temperature and pressure and at such a speed as to cause damage to the surroundings. Pyrotechnic substances are included even when they do not evolve gases.

The substance is not sensitive neither under the effect of flame nor to shock and to friction. Thus the substance is not classified as an explosive material.
