Due to the insolubility of the substance in water a test for assessing acute toxicity on aquatic plants, in particular algae, has been considered as not applicable and representative. In fact, based on the REACH Regulation, Annex VII, Column 2 (specific rules for adaptation from column 1) the algae study does not need to be conducted if there are mitigating factors indicating that the aquatic toxicity is unlikely to occur, for instance if the substance is highly insoluble in water (< 0.1 mg/l). The solubility of Solvent Brown 041 estimated by EPIWEB* is 0.018 mg/L.
