Additional information

Short description of key information:
Three studies were carried out to assess the mutagenic potential of Didecyldimethylammonium carbonate, including a bacterial reverse mutation assay, a chromosome aberration assay in human lymphocytes and a mouse lymphoma assay using L5178Y T/K+/- cells. All three studies were carried out up to cytotoxic concentrations. All three studies revealed negative results without and with metabolic activation (S9-mix). Therefore, Didecyldimethylammonium carbonate is considered not mutagenic. No in vivo mutagenicity studies were considered.

Endpoint Conclusion: No adverse effect observed (negative)

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the information available the substance is not classified and labeled according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP) and according to Directive 67/548/EEC (DSD).
