Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The water solubility is < 0.05 mg/L at 20 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The key value of water solubility of the substance is estimated by using category approach, i.e. read-across from its main constituent C16 palmitic acid (CAS 57-10-3). Because water solubility of fatty acid decreases with the chain length, the C16 palmitic acid has the highest water solubility within this composition. It is supported by data for the substance itself, but with less precision (< 50 mg/L).
