Acute studies on all three trophic levels were performed to investigate the aquatic toxicity of DMP. Fish turned out to be the most sensitive species revealing a LC50 (96 h) of 39 mg/L. Effects of DMP towards daphnia were found in the same range providing a LC50 (48 h) > 52 mg/L. Algae showed no effects up to 100 mg/L.

Additionally, two chronic studies for fish and daphnia are available. The results showed no effects to daphnia (21 -days EC10 > 10 mg/L) and no effects in fish (102 -days NOEC = 11 mg/L).
