Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
6.25 mg/L

Additional information

The toxic effects of D-Glucopyranose, oligomers, decyl octyl glycosides (CAS: 68515-73-1) to marine and freshwater algae were evaluated. For the freshwater compartment the green algae Scenedesmus subspicatus was used for testing according to DIN 38412, part 9. The test exhibited an EC50 (72 h) of 27.22 mg a.i./L (Stelter, 1994). Testing with the marine algae (mainly Skeletonema costatum, according to ISO 10253) resulted in E(L)C50 (72 h) values from 7.03 mg/L (Hudson, 2005) to 12.43 mg a.i./L (Hudson, 2007) and up to 19.82 mg/L (Hudson, 1998). All effect concentrations are based on the growth rate.
