Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The adsorption coefficient Koc was estimated based on the pKa and the log Kow using a method according to Franco and Trapp (2008, 2009, 2010). The log Koc for the charged molecule was estimated to be 4.65 (Koc = 44781 L/kg) at 20°C. Therefore, adsorption to solid soil phase is expected under environmentally relevant conditions. However, tributylamine is readily biodegradable.

On the basis of the pKa and the Henry's Law Constant (HLC) of the uncharged molecule, the HLC of the charged molecule was calculated to be 0.00611 Pa*m³/mol at 25 °C and pH 7 (OXEA, 2010; ECHA, 2008). The substance is not expected to evaporate from water surfaces.

According to Mackay Level III distribution modelling, over time, the uncharged substance will preferentially distribute into the compartments soil (74.6%) and water (23.7%). However, as the model does not consider the ionic character of the molecule at environmental relevant pH condition, the distribution into water may be underestimated.
