Phototransformation in air is not relevant due to low vapour pressure (< 0.0001 Pa).

No experimental studies investigating the phototransformation in air of Fatty acids, C16-18, tetraesters with 3,3'-oxybis[1,2-propanediol] (CAS 91050-80-5) are available. Results from AOPWIN v1.92 for representative fatty acid components of Fatty acids, C16-18, tetraesters with 3,3'-oxybis[1,2-propanediol] indicate that the substance is susceptible to indirect photodegradation in air (Hopp 2011, Marwitz 2012). The estimated half-lives for the reaction with OH-radicals are 1.99 – 5.99 h (24 h day; OH-concentration: 0.5E+06 OH/cm³). However, this is not expected to be a relevant environmental fate process, since of Fatty acids, C16-18, tetraesters with 3,3'-oxybis[1,2-propanediol] is not expected to be present in the atmosphere based on the low estimated vapour pressure under ambient conditions (5.63E-46 Pa - 3.75E-20 Pa at 20 °C). As this study is not a standard information requirement according to Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 and there is no indication from the Chemical Safety Assessment (CSA) on the need to investigate further the fate and behaviour of the substance (Annex X requirement), no further testing is considered necessary for of Fatty acids, C16-18, tetraesters with 3,3'-oxybis[1,2-propanediol].
