Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

No self-ignition temperature was observed up to the maximum test temperature of 280 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Basic Yellow 28 Methyl Sulfate has been tested for potential deflagration in analogy to Guideline C.1 of the "Manual of Test and Criteria" of the Recommendations on Transport of Dangerous Goods" by heating the substance in a closed system.

There is no deflagration at 100 °C.

The differential thermo analysis in a closed jar showed a marginal exothermic decomposition between 60 and 90 °C, followed by an endothermic reaction between 90 and 120 °C. A second endothermic reaction occurred between 180 and 280 °C.

No self-ignition temperature was observed up to the maximum test temperature of 280 °C.
