Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures

Immediate medical attention: In case of ingestion refer for medical attention. In case of prolonged

symptoms refer for medical attention and show the safety data sheet.

Inhalation: Fresh air, rest. In case of laboured breathing apply artificial respiration.

Refer for medical attention.

Ingestion: Rinse mouth. Give water to drink. Never give anything by mouth or never

induce vomiting to an unconscious person. Tilt the head forward at

spontaneous vomiting. Place the unconscious victim in recovery position.

If respiratory arrest provide immediate respiratory support or apply

artificial respiration if necessary. Call a physician or Poison Control Center

immediately.

Skin contact: Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash off with soap and water.

Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.

Eye contact: Flush eyes with copious amounts of water for 10 – 15 minutes while

holding eyelids open (remove contact lenses if easily possible). If

symptoms persists refer for medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media

Suitable extinguishing media: Carbon dioxide (CO 2). ABC powder. Foam. Water spray or fog.

Unsuitable extinguishing media: Do not use a solid water stream as it may scatter and spread fire.

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

Special exposure hazards arising from

the substance or preparation itself,

combustion products, resulting gases:

Incomplete combustion and thermolysis may produce irritating gases and

gases of varying toxicity such as carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, soot.

These may be highly dangerous if inhaled in confined spaces or at high

concentration.

Advice for firefighters

Special protective equipment for firefighters:

Wear self-contained breathing apparatus (EN 14593) and protective suit

(EN 14605).

Other: Cool containers / tanks with water spray. Fire residues and contaminated

fire extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance with local

regulations.

Combustible. May for explosive mixtures with air. Danger of dust

explosion. Take measures against electrostatic discharges.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

Personal precautions: Avoid formation of dust. Avoid contact with the material. Ensure

adequate ventilation. Use personal protective equipment..

Environmental precautions

Environmental precautions: Stop the spillage, is this may be done safely. Do not allow material to

contaminate ground water system. Try to prevent the material from

entering drains or water courses.

Treat as hazardous waste.

Local authorities should be advised if significant spillages cannot be

contained.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up

Methods for cleaning up: Sweep the spilled material without dust formation and place in sealed

containers for disposal. Label properly the containers. Ventilate the area

and wash the contaminated surface.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling

Information on safe handling: When using do not eat, drink or smoke. Avoid the formation of dust.

Avoid inhalation or contact with skin, eyes and equipment. Ensure

adequate ventilation. Use local ventilation in case of dust formation. For

personal protective equipment see section 8.

Combustible. May for explosive mixtures with air. Danger of dust

explosion. Take measures against electrostatic discharges. In order to

prevent electrostatic discharge equipment/Installation must be grounded.

Hygienic measures Ensure the application of strict rules of hygiene by the personnel exposed

to the risk of contact with the product. Wash hands before breaks and

immediately after handling the product. Do not use abrasives, solvents or

fuels.

Regular cleaning of equipment, work area and clothing is recommended.

Avoid prolonged or repeated contact with the material or with the waste.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Personal protective equipment

Eye/face protection If dust may occur: wear safety glasses with side-shields (EN 166).

Skin protection

Hand protection Avoid contact with skin. Wear safety gloves (EN 374).

Other Wear suitable protective clothing. Protective shoes or boots. Long

sleeved clothing.

Respiratory protection When workers are facing concentrations above the exposure limit they

must use appropriate certified respirators. Respirator with combination

filter for vapour/particulate (EN 141). The use of breathing apparatus

must comply strictly with the manufacturer's instructions and the

regulations governing their choices and uses.

Environmental exposure controls

Environmental exposure controls: The product should not be allowed to enter drains, water courses or the

soil.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity

Reactivity No specific reactivity other than those specified under section 10.5.

Chemical stability

Stability Stable under recommended storage conditions.

Possibility of hazardous reactions

Hazardous reactions None under normal processing.

Conditions to avoid

Conditions to avoid Humidity.

Heat (temperatures above flash point), sparks, ignition points, flames,

static electricity.

Incompatible materials

Materials to avoid Oxidizers

Hazardous decomposition products

Hazardous decomposition products Incomplete combustion and thermolysis may produce gases of varying

toxicity such as carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, soot.

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods

Should not be released into the environment. Dispose of in accordance with the European Directives on waste and

hazardous waste. Dispose of in accordance with local regulations.

Substance:

According to the European Waste Catalogue, Waste Codes are not product specific, but application specific. Waste

codes should be assigned by the user based on the application for which the product was used. Suggested EWCcode:

070513. Render harmless by incineration.

Packaging:

Empty containers should be taken to an approved waste handling site for recycling or disposal. Suggested EWCcode:

150110. The correct waste codes should be assigned by the user based on the application. Render harmless

by incineration or by recycling.
