Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The physical and chemical properties of the reaction mass of maleic acid and phtalic acid as produced (reaction mass in 90% water) have not been assessed as such due to the nature of the constituents, their low concentration in water and the confinement of the installation in the plant.

A summary of the main publicly available physical and chemical properties of the individual components is proposed below (source HSDB):

   MALEIC ACID
(CAS 110 -16 -7)
 PHTALIC ACID
(CAS 88 -99 -3)
 BENZOIC ACID
(CAS 65 -85 -0)
 CITRACONIC ACID
(CAS 498 -23 -7)
 FUMARIC ACID
(CAS 110 -17 -8)
