Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In a 72 h acute toxicity study freshwater algae (Desmodesmus subspicatus) were exposed to Oxooil LS 13. For both biomass and growth rate, the resulting EL50 value was >100 mg/L loading rate WAF and the No Observed Effect Loading Rate was 100 mg/L loading rate WAF.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
100 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
100 mg/L

Additional information

In a 72 h acute toxicity study, freshwater algae (Desmodesmus subspicatus) were exposed to Oxooil LS 13 at a nominal WAF loading rate of 0 and 100 mg/L. For both biomass and growth rate, the resulting EL50 value was >100 mg/L loading rate WAF and the No Observed Effect Loading Rate was 100 mg/L loading rate WAF. However, the total organic carbon (TOC) analysis used to determine test material concentration in WAFs was not reliable. Since Oxooil LS 13 water concentrations during the test period were not analytically confirmed and the batch/lot number is not provided , the present toxicity study is classified as reliable with restrictions according to the OECD guideline Nr. 201.
