Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Several studies are available in order to determine the acute toxicity of several substances similar to Direct Orange 39. All those available 5 studies demonstrate that the substance is with a high probability acutely not harmful to fish. In one study performed with Direct Orange 39, the LC50 value determined is higher than 1000, whereas in the rest of the studies the values are higher than 100 mg/l.

CAS 1195028-55-7: In a short-term toxicity study of the test substance on Branchydanio rerio, no toxic effects occurred at the test concentration of nominal 100 mg/L.

CAS 90218-39-6 and CAS 50814-31-8 gave the same results as the previous one. Only summary reports are available.

CAS 1325-54-8: In a short-term toxicity study of the test substance on trouts, no toxic effects occurred at the test concentration of nominal 1000 mg/L. Only a summary report is available.

As at the maximum concentration tested (EC50(fish)>100 mg/l) no deaths were observed, the EC50(fish) could be considered assimilable at water solubility 142000 mg/l according to OECD guidelines.

Based on the existing information, the substance is not harmful to fish.
