Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

2011-07-14 - 2011-07-15
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.6 (Water Solubility)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
other: preliminary estimate
Specific details on test material used for the study:
No further details on test substance available
Key result
Remarks on result:
other: During preliminary estimation, the sample was found to be miscible with water in all proportions.
Details on results:
An initial mass of 9.76 mg of test substance was added to 0.1 ml of water. The test substance was found to be completely miscible. More of the test substance was added up to 14100 mg in 1 ml of water with the sample being completely miscible in water. Temperature of measurement was not reported; ambient conditions are anticipated.

The miscibility was accompanied with evolution of heat (exothermic dissolution reaction). Sample solution turned deep yellow within 7 hours. No change in composition of test solution with time was confirmed (UV spectroscopy).

The solubility was therefore reported as "miscible" and no main study was performed.
Conclusions:
The substance is concluded to be miscible with water in all proportions under ambient conditions.

Description of key information

The test substance was determined to be miscible with water in all proportions under ambient conditions, following a GLP study according to the preliminary test as specified in test method EC A.6 (Younis, 2011).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
100 g/L
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

The substance is miscible with water in all proportions. The bounded value of 100 g/L is used as the key value for chemical safety assessment, being the maximum value for water solubility as defined in the EUSES program.
