Executive summary:

The vapor pressure of MeFBSA was measured using the dynamic method. Vapor pressure and temperature were measured at a variety of equilibrium points covering a temperature range of 57.7 °C to 214.3 °C and fit to the Antoine equation. The extrapolated vapor pressure was then determined. Because the measurements were taken above the substance melting point, the extrapolation is expected to be an overestimate of the solid material vapor pressure. The study was conducted in accordance with ASTM E-1719-97 but was not GLP compliant. Therefore, the study is classified as acceptable with restrictions.

In the key study, the vapor pressure of MeFBSA was measured using the dynamic method according to an accepted national test method. Vapor pressure and temperature were measured at a variety of equilibrium points covering a temperature range of 57.7 °C to 214.3 °C and fit to the Antoine equation. In a supporting study, a similar technique was used over equilibrium points covering a temperature range of 64.2 °C to 190.8 °C, with a result of 0.052 mm Hg at 20 °C.  Both studies are considered reliable with restrictions.  It should be noted that both studies used temperatures above the melting point.  The extrapolation is thus for the subcooled liquid and is expected to be an overestimate of the solid's vapor pressure.  Because a broader range of equilbria were used in the key study, the extrapolation is considered more accurate.  A final value of 0.03 mmHg at 20 °C was taken from a safety data sheet.  Its reliability cannot be determined.
