First-aid measures

- Following inhalation:

Remove affected person from source of contamination. Rinse nose and mouth with water. Seek medical attention if any discomfort continues.

- Following skin contact:

Remove affected person from source of contamination. Remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin thoroughly with soap and water. Seek medical attention if irritation persists after washing.

- Following eye contact:

Remove affected person from source of contamination. Remove any contact lenses and open eyelids wide apart. Continue to rinse for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention.

- Following ingestion:

Remove affected person from source of contamination. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Do not induce vomiting. Rinse mouth thoroughly with water. Seek medical attention if any discomfort continues.

Fire-fighting measures

- Suitable extinguishing media:

Extinguish with the following media: Alcohol-resistant foam. Carbon dioxide (CO2). Dry chemicals, sand, dolomite etc. Do not use water, if avoidable.

- Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:

The product is flammable. Heating may generate flammable vapours. Thermal decomposition

or combustion products may include the following substances: Toxic gases or vapours.

- Advice for fire fighter: Control run-off water by containing and keeping it out of sewers and watercourses. Wear positive-pressure self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and appropriate protective clothing.

Accidental release measures

- Personal precautions: The following protection should be worn: Chemical splash goggles. Chemical-resistant, impervious gloves complying with an approved standard should be worn if a risk assessment indicates skin contact is possible.

- Environmental precautions:

Do not discharge into drains or watercourses or onto the ground. Spillages or uncontrolled discharges into watercourses must be reported immediately to the Environmental Agency or other appropriate regulatory body. Collect and place in suitable waste disposal containers and seal securely. Label the containers containing waste and contaminated materials and remove from the area as soon as possible.

- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Keep combustible materials away from spillage. Absorb in vermiculite, dry sand or earth and

place into containers. Flush contaminated area with plenty of water. Wash thoroughly after dealing with a spillage.

Handling and storage

- Precautions for safe handling:

Avoid spilling. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not wear contact lenses. Keep away from heat, sparks and open flame. Static electricity and formation of sparks must be prevented. Use explosion proof electric equipment. Eye wash facilities and emergency shower must be available when handling this product. During application and drying, solvent vapours will be emitted.

- Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities: Store in tightly-closed, original container in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place. Keep only in the original container.

Exposure controls / personal protection

1. Technical protection measures

Provide adequate general and local exhaust ventilation. Observe any occupational exposure limits for the product or ingredients. Provide eyewash station. Wash promptly if skin becomes contaminated. Promptly remove non-impervious clothing that becomes contaminated. When using do not eat, drink or smoke.

2. Organisational protection measures

Use engineering controls to reduce air contamination to permissible exposure level. Wear appropriate clothing to prevent any possibility of liquid contact and repeated or prolonged vapour contact. Provide eyewash station and safety shower.

3. Hand protection

Chemical-resistant, impervious gloves complying with an approved standard should be worn if a risk assessment indicates skin contact is possible.

4. Feet protection

Wear appropriate clothing to prevent any possibility of liquid contact and repeated or prolonged vapour contact.

5. Body protection

Wear appropriate clothing to prevent any possibility of liquid contact and repeated or prolonged vapour contact.

6. Eye protection

Contact lenses should not be worn when working with this chemical. The following protection should be worn: Chemical splash goggles.

7. Respiratory protection

Wear appropriate clothing to prevent any possibility of liquid contact and repeated or prolonged vapour contact.

Stability and reactivity

Chemical stability

- No particular stability concerns

Conditions to avoid

- Avoid heat, flames and other sources of ignition

Hazardous decomposition products - Oxides of carbon. Protection against nuisance dust must be used when the airborne concentration exceeds 10 mg/m³

Disposal considerations

Dispose of waste to licensed waste disposal site in accordance with the requirements of the local Waste Disposal Authority.
