First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient from exposure.

Obtain medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Irrigate with eyewash solution or clean water, holding the

eyelids apart, for at least 15 mins. Obtain medical

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing and wash skin with water.

Obtain medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Use water spray, foam, dry powder or CO2.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon,

nitrogen and sulphur

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: A self contained breathing apparatus and suitable protective

clothing should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Ensure personal protective clothing is worn. Do not breathe

dust. Do not allow to enter drains, sewers or water courses.

Clear up spillages (for liquid absorb onto suitable inert

substrate) and transfer to a container for hazardous

substance disposal. For liquid preparation ventilate area

and avoid build-up of Acetone vapour.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid contact with skin and eyes, do not breathe dust. Only

manufacture and use in closed plant with engineering

controls by trained chemical process operatives wearing

chemical protective gloves, protective clothing and eye

protection. Containers should be labelled "Caution -

substance not fully tested"

Storage: Store acetone solutions in dedicated ventilated and bunded

area for organic solvents. Containers should be suitably

labelled with the additional wording "Caution substance not

fully tested"

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The acetone solution is transported in IBC's
