Description of key information

No experimental information about aqutic toxicity of chlorinated 2,8-dimethylphenoxathiin is available.

Using ECOSAR Program v1.11 (EPISUITE v4.11) the predicted LC50 and EC50 values are expected to be higher as the respective predicted values for water solubility.

Therefore classification as hazardous to the aquatic environment categories 1 - 3 is not applicable.

With reference to the poor biodegradability, the high log POW and the predict aquatic toxicities well below 0.1 mg/L classification and labeling as H413 "May cause long lasting harmful effects to aquatic life." has been asigned.
