Additional information

In accordance with section 2 of REACH, Annex XI, the study does not need to be conducted as the test substance will not melt in the applicability range of EU Method A.1 (in production process melting point >1800 °C).

In the course of the industrial use the test item of the melting point was determined (reference 4.2 -2). The substance is used in an Electron beam evaporator at an evaporation temperature of 2200-2300 °C. Prerequisite to the evaporation step is the preparation of the base melt which requires thorough melting to avoid any remaining loose granules. This melting takes place above 1800 °C. This melting point is out if the applicability domain of the any method cited in the respective OECD or EU guidelines.
