- A simplified water solubility test was followed. A known quantity of the test item was weighed into a conical flask and 20 mL of water was added. The flasks were stoppered and agitated in an orbital shaker water bath. After 24 hours, the flasks were removed and allowed to equilibrate for 24 hours prior to filtering with a 0.1 μm cellulose nitrate membrane filter. ICP-OES was used to determine the concentration of the PGM in the resulting solution.
