Endpoint:
oxidising solids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with oxidising properties and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING

From the expert statement (see Data Source):
Oxacycloheptadecan-2-one does not contain groups that act as an oxidizing agent. The oxygen atoms that are present in the molecular structure of Oxacycloheptadecan-2-one are chemically bonded to carbon or hydrogen. The molecular structures of impurities/minor compounds (i.e. 2.6%) were not taken into account.
In conclusion, Oxacycloheptadecan-2-one has no oxidizing properties.
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
data waiving: supporting information

Description of key information

The substance has no oxidizing properties (based on structural features).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
non oxidising

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on structural features, classification for the hazard oxidising solid is not required according to CLP Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
