Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

- General advice:

Seek medical advice in case of symptoms caused by eye or skin contact, inhalation or swallowing. Remove contaminated or saturated clothing immediately and dispose of safely.

- Following inhalation:

Bring affected person outside and ensure that he/she is comfortable.

- Following skin contact:

Wash off with plenty of water and soap immediately.

- Following eye contact:

Open the eyes and rinse thoroughly with plenty of water.

- Following ingestion:

Clean mouth with water and drink afterwards plenty of water.

- Most important symptoms and effects: Potential damage resulting from ingestion: Central nervous system effects.

Fire-fighting measures

- Suitable extinguishing media:

Water spray, foam, CO2, dry powder.

- Unsuitable extinguishing media:

high volume water jet

- Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:

Conflagration gases from organic substances are always to be considered respiratory toxins.

- Advice for fire fighter:

-- Special protective equipment for firefighters: In the case of fire, wear respiratory protective equipment in-dependent of surrounding air and chemical protective suit.

-- Further information: Flash back possible over considerable distance. Absorb decomposition gases with jet of water. Use a water spray to cool fully closed containers. Closed containers may rupture or explode (due to                     pressure build-up) when exposed to extreme heat.

Accidental release measures

- Personal precautions:

Wear personal protective equipment; see "Exposure controls / personal protection. Ensure there is sufficient ventilation. Keep away from heat and sources of ignition. Do not inhale vapour, aerosols,                     mist. Beware of vapours accumulating to form explosive concentrations. Vapours can accumulate in low areas.

- Environmental precautions:

Product or extinguishing water with product must not be al-lowed to enter soil, sewers or natural bodies of water.

- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder). Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.

Handling and storage

- Precautions for safe handling:

-- Advice on safe handling: Caution - substance not yet tested completely. Observe the rules usually applicable when handling chemicals. Provide sufficient ventilation and exhaust at the workplace.

-- Advice on protection against fire and explosion: When heated above flashpoint and/or with spraying or atomi-zation, a flammable mixture may form with air. Take precau-tionary measures against static charges, keep away                     from sources of ignition.

-- Hygiene measures: Do not inhale vapours / aerosols. Contact with skin, eyes and clothes must be strictly avoided Take off clothing and shoes contaminated with product. Clean before reuse. Do not eat, drink or smoke while              working. Wash hands, and/or face before breaks and when workday is finished. Keep away from food, drink and animal feedingstuffs.

- Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:

-- Requirements for storage areas and containers: Keep containers tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place. Avoid heat effect and sources of ignition.

-- Storage class (TRGS 510): 3, Flammable liquids

Exposure controls / personal protection

- Hand protection

-- Material: Nitrile rubber

-- Glove thickness: 0,4 mm

-- Directive: DIN EN 374

4. Feet protection

- Body protection: Protective clothing

If intensive contact with the hazardous material cannot be avoided with certainty, order (depending on the hazard in-volved) additional protective measures for example chemical protective suit.

- Eye protection: Tightly fitting safety goggles

7. Respiratory protection: In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment.

Stability and reactivity

1. Reactivity

: see 3

2. Chemical stability

: Sensitive to air. Stabilization with: 2,6-tert.-Butyl-4-methyl-phenole (BHT).

3. Possibility of hazardous reactions

: Decomposes on heating.

Violent polymerisation can occur.

When heated above flashpoint and/or with spraying or atomi-zation, a flammable mixture may form with air.

4. Conditions to avoid

: Keep away from heat and sources of ignition.

5. Incompatible materials

: Strong acids and oxidizing agents

Amines

Ammonia

combustible substances

6. Hazardous decomposition products: irritant gases/vapours

Disposal considerations

Product:

Must be brought to an adequate waste treatment facility, in conformity with applicable waste disposal regulations.

Contaminated packaging:

Packaging, that can not be reused after cleaning must be disposed or recycled in accordance with all federal, national and local regulations.
