Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

According to the REACH Regulation (EC n. 1907/2006), Annex VII, Column 2, the study does not need to be conducted if the substance contains chemical groups associated with explosive properties and the exothermic decomposition energy is less than 500 J/g and the onset of exothermic decomposition is below 500 °C. Based on the results of DSC analysis , the substance has not melting up to 300 °C but decomposing before melting between 282 and 375 °C (enthalpy: 113.9 J/g), therefore the test does not need to be conducted.

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to the screening procedure described in the CLP Regulation (EC n. 1272/2008), Part 2, paragraphs 2.1.4.2 and 2.1.4.3, the substance cannot be classified as explosive taking into account the thermal behaviour (the exothermic decomposition energy is less than 500 J/g and the onset of exothermic decomposition is below 500 °C).
