Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

The screening evaluation failed to evidence any reason of concern, based on thermal behaviour investigation.

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to the CLP Regulation (EC 1272/2008), 2.1 section, an explosive substance or mixture is a solid or liquid substance or mixture of substances which is in itself capable by chemical reaction of producing gas at such a temperature and pressure and at such a speed as to cause damage to the surroundings. Pyrotechnic substances are included even when they do not evolve gases.

Substances, mixtures and articles of this class does not meet the criteria for avoiding the classification according to the CLP Regulation (EC 1272/2008).

According to the REACH Regulation annex VII column 2: the study does not need to be conducted if the organic substance or a homogenous mixture of organic substances contains chemical groups associated with explosive properties, but the exothermic decomposition energy is less than 500 J/g and the onset of exothermic decomposition is below 500 °C.

Based on results obtained from screening criteria, the substance is classified as NON explosive.
