A crucible containing the test substance was opened immediately after the melting range and was found to contain a brown residue.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The test substance, Simazine (technical) is considered to be thermally stable at room temperature as no decomposition or chemical transformation occurred below 150°C. Melting occurs in the range 227.0 - 233.0°C followed immediately by decomposition in the range 233.0 - 244.0°C.
