Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
melting point/freezing point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
comparable to guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: S52-009 method
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The melting point is determined using an automatic apparatus (METTLER FP900) enabling entry of thermo-optical modifications in the substances studied. The sample is placed in a glass capillary tube. The sample is heated with a defined heating rate (1°C/min). An electrical photo cell constantly measures the intensity of the light transmitted, i.e. the transparency of the sample. The apparatus makes 3 simultaneous measurements and the mean is calculated.
GLP compliance:
not specified
Type of method:
capillary method
Specific details on test material used for the study:
Batch: 1700000401
Key result
Melting / freezing pt.:
ca. 62.5 °C
Conclusions:
Melting point of final product is 62.5°C.
Executive summary:

Melting point of final product is 62.5°C.
