Description of key information
This particular substance is designed to be used as a dye for diverse textile fabrics. To ensure high performance and quality of the treated fabric, those classes of chemical substances are designed to be not biodegradable by microorganisms. Nevertheless, the BOD5 and the COD values for FAT 20077/B have been investigated in the past and found to be0 mg O2/g for BOD5 and1102 mg/g O2 for COD, respectively in two separate key studies.
The BOD5/COD quotient calculated using data from two individual studies (BOD5: 0 mg/g O2; COD: 1102 mg O2/g) is <0.5, indicating the test substance as not rapidly biodegradable.
Therefore, FAT 20077 is considered to be non-biodegradable.
