Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Since the substance is an UVCB which mainly consists of two types of oligomers thus the macroscopic pKa values on the structural unit of

both oligomers below have been generated by calculation using recommended software program SPARC,v.4.6.

pKa1= 12.3 at 25°C (of 4,5-Dihydroxy-1,3-bis(hydroxymethyl)imidazolidin-2-one)

pKa2= 12.5 at 25°C ( of 4,5-Dihydroxy-1-hydroxymethyl-imidazolidin-2-one)

It can be concluded that the dissociation constant of test substance was estimated to be pKa= 12 at 25°C.

This would be suggested that the pKa value of test item is outside the environmentally relevant pH range, and that they would therefore be undissociated under normal conditions.
