Additional information

Abiotic degradation is not a relevant pathway in the environmental fate of methyl palmitate (CAS No. 112-39-0). Since the substance is not likely to be present in the atmosphere (vapour pressure = 0.008 Pa at 25 °C), indirect photolysis of methyl palmitate in air will not occur at a significant degree. Abiotic hydrolysis is not relevant, since the substance is readily biodegradable and is expected to be eliminated through biodegradation in natural waters.
