Description of key information
The test item was formed to an unbroken strip or powder train of about 250 mm long, by 20 mm wide and by 10 mm high on a non-combustible, non-porous and bw heat-conducting base plate.
A hot flame from a gas burner (minimum diameter 5 mm) was applied to one end of the powder train for a maximum of 2 minutes (5 minutes for powders of metals or metal-alloys) or until the powder ignites durable.
lt should be noted whether combustion propagates along 200 mm of the train within the 4 minutes test period (or 40 minutes for metal powders). If the substance does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or by smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the test period, the substance should not be considered as highby flammable. In this case no further testing is required.
If the smouldering or the flames propagates over 200 mm length of the powder train in less than 4 minutes, or less than 40 minutes for metal powders, further tests has to be performed to determine the burning rate of the test item.
The test item began to melt immediately after lt was tried to ignite the pile with a hat flame from a gas burner. After the hot flame was removed the combustion ceased immediately. There was na durable inftammation or smouldering observed within 4 minutes of test period.
Because lt was impossible to ignite the test item the main test had not to be performed. Therefore the test item
C20/22-ATQ trocken is not considered as highly flammable according to EEC-Guideline A.I0.
