Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Substance decomposes before boiling (OECD 103). Because of instability of the target substance, the boiling point of the main degradation product (n-butanol) is used as a key value in CSA.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Boiling point at 101 325 Pa:
117 °C

Additional information

The boiling point of titanium tetrabutanolate was carried out in accordance with GLP as per OECD guideline 103 by using differential scanning calorimetry. Boiling point was not observed below the temperature at which reaction and/or decomposition started. The boiling point was not reported in the key study report owing to decomposition of the test substance.

This substance is hydrolytically unstable. Because the rapid hydrolysis is the driving force in CSA, read-across data on the boiling point of n-butanol released from the substance is used as a key value in CSA (peer-reviewed secondary source Lide 2008).
