Description of key information

In accordance with column 2 of REACH annex IX, a long-term toxicity to fish test (required in section 9.1.6) is not necessary as the chemical safety assessment according to Annex I does not indicate the need to investigate further the effects on aquatic organisms. Two long-term aquatic studies (daphnia and algae) are available. Daphnia is by far the most sensitive species in acute aquatic tests and thus represents also the worst case for long-term testing. Further long-term testing with fish would consequently not improve the risk assessment. Thus, in conclusion, also considering animal welfare reasons, further long-term testing with fish is not required.
