Reference
Endpoint:
phototransformation in soil
Type of information:
(Q)SAR
Adequacy of study:
supporting study
Study period:
not reported
Reliability:
4 (not assignable)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
results derived from a valid (Q)SAR model, but not (completely) falling into its applicability domain, and documentation / justification is limited
Remarks:
Value(s) derived using calculation method/software. The EPIWIN suite developed by Syracuse Research Corporation has not been validated for chemicals that contain metals in the molecular stucture; therefore, there is uncertainty associated with the calculated values and they should be used with caution.
Qualifier:
no guideline available
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Method: other (calculated): AOPWIN v1.91
GLP compliance:
no

USEPA. 2000 (AOPWIN Version 1.91)

The 2nd-order rate constant for the photooxidation reaction of tetrabutyltin with photochemically-produced hydroxyl (OH) radicals was calculated to be 57 x 10E-12 cm^3/molecule*sec. Based on 1.5 x 10E+6 OH  molecules/cm^3 and assuming 12 hours of sunlight per 24-h day, the estimated half-life was calculated to be 4.514 hours.
