Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In a valid guideline study the flash point could not be determined because of the high water contents of N-Methylol methacrylamide (60% aqueous solution) at 1013 hPa (Pensky Martens closed cup). Study is technically not feasible.

Additional information

In a valid guideline study the flash point could not be determined because of the high water contents of N-Methylol methacrylamide (60% aqueous solution) at 1013 hPa (Pensky Martens closed cup). Up to about 100 °C were the test item started to boil a flash point was not detected.

The substance N-Methylol methacrylamide as such cannot be isolated in practice (equillibrium with formaldehyde and methacrylamide in aqueous solution) therefore the study is technically not feasible.
