Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove from exposure area immediately. Use a bag valve mask
or similar device to perform artificial respiration if
needed. Get medical attention immediately.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Wash eyes immediately with large amounts of water or normal
saline, occasionally lifting upper and lower lids, until no
evidence of chemical remains. Get medical help immediately.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove all contaminated clothing, jewellery and shoes
immediately. Wash with mild soap or detergent and large
amounts of water until no evidence of chemical remains (at
least 15-20 minutes) Get medical attention if needed.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Get medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Regular dry chemical, carbon dioxide, water, regular foam.
With large fires use regular foam or flood with fine water
spray.

Product arising from burning: None reported.

Product determined by test: N

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Collect spilled material in appropriate container for
disposal. Keep out of the water supplies and sewers. Keep
unnecessary people away, isolate hazard area and deny entry.

Handling and storage

Handling: Always wear proper suitable protective clothing - including
laboratory coats and safety glasses.

Storage: The substance is very stable and is not hygroscopic and can
be stored indefinitely at 0 °C. Violent decomposition can
occur when dried at elevated temperatures. Keep container
tightly closed.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Steel topped 25 kg fiber board tubs.

All smaller packet sizes (2 kg and less) are high density
polyethlene (HDPE).

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Dust explosions possible.

Chemical reaction with water: Stable at normal room temperature and pressure.

Avoid heat, flames, sparks, and other sources of ignition.

Avoid contact with incompatable material such as metals and
oxidizing materials.

Release of 1-hydroxy-7-azobenzotriazole has been classified
as a flammable substance.

Dust explosion: Slight fire hazard. Dust/air mixture may ignite or explode.
Minimum ignition energy > 500mJ.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: None.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not applicable.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The products of incineration are not known. This is the
recommended method for disposal. Flue gases should be
scrubbed, the substance contains nitrogen.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not applicable.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The public at large will not be exposed to this test
material.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Not applicable.
