Acute tests on Daphnia and algae and a chronic test on algae were performed to examine the aquatic toxicity of EMIM Triflat (1H-Imidazolium, 3-ethyl-1-methyl-, 1,1,1-trifluoromethanesulfonate (1:1). Acute test on Daphnia magna reveals an EC50 (48h) of 222mg/l. The most sensitive aquatic organism is the algae (Desmodesmus subspicatus) with EC50 (72h) of 52.7 mg/l and EC10 (72h) of 18.6 mg/l. Because the chronical data of the most sensitive organism, the algae, was >1mg/l the submitted substance is considered as not classified for EU-GHS and CLP.
