Based on a review of the ecotoxicity values from the acute fish, daphnid, and algal studies, the key studies indicated that 1-nitropropane exhibited acute toxicity (LC/EC50) values ranging from 227 to >456 mg/L. Fish were the most sensitive of the three trophic levels to 1-nitropropane. The LC50 for the fish,Oncorynchus mykiss(rainbow trout), 227 mg 1-nitropropane/L. The NOEC was 91 mg 1-nitropropane/L.
