Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The predicted bio-concentration factor (BCF) of the target chemical tin(II) oxalate varies between 88 to 100. This value is much less than the threshold of 2000 signifying bio-accumulative potential. Also, from the information available from the analogue chemicals that belong to the same family of chemical as “organotin compounds”, it can be concluded that tin(II) oxalate shall have low bio-accumulation potential.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Bioaccumulation potential:
low bioaccumulation potential

Additional information

Organotin compounds (OTC) possess both lipophilic and ionic properties; while the former may favor their accumulation in lipids, the latter enables OTC to bind to proteins and glutathione. Available reports suggest the metabolism and excretion of OTC through urine and feaces.

Also, the predicted bio-concentration factor (BCF) of the target chemical tin(II) oxalate varies between 88 to 100. This value is much less than the threshold of 2000 signifying bio-accumulative potential. Thus, it is concluded that the bio-accumulation potential of tin(II) oxalateis likely to be low.
