Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

This summary provides a brief overview of the endpoints in the context of aquatic toxicity which are data requirements according to Reach, Annex VII (Article 18, above 1000t):

Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates (WoE)

The EC50 and LC50 values obtained from these studies are in a similar order of magnitude.

48h-EC50: 7.4 mg/l - 28.1 mg/L
48h-LC50: 7.5 mg/l - 17.6 mg/L
24h-EC50: 20.8 - 24 mg/L
24h-LC50: 35 mg/l

The most conservative 48h-LC50 value of 7.5 mg/L  (Deneer 1989, Maas-Diepeveen 1986) is chosen as key value for assessment.

Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria (WoE)

The EC50/TT/EC3/IC50 values obtained from various experimental studies are in a similar order of magnitude.

The 96h-EC50 value of 14 mg/L reported independently by Maas-Diepeveen 1986 and Deneer 1988/1989 was chosen as key value for chemical safety assessment. This value is supported by other studies (TT/EC3/IC50-values in the range of: 1-52 mg/l).
