Hydrolysis

The main components of the submission substance are of inorganic nature, without any hydrolysable groups present. The substance finally will be completely dissociated into ions.

Biodegradation

The main components of the submission substance are of inorganic nature - no study on ready biodegradability has to be performed if the substance is inorganic. For the organic complex ligand humate, which comprise <1% (w/w) of the submission substance, a screening study showed the test material to be not ready biodegradable.

Bioaccumulation

According to Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex IX, No. 9.3.2., Column 2, further bioaccumulation studies need not to be conducted if the substance has a low potential for bioaccumulation.

The main components of the submission substance are of inorganic nature, are highly hydrophilic and will ultimately dissociate into ions.

The organic complex ligand humate, which comprise <1% (w/w) of the submission substance, also is highly hydrophilic, with a logPow of -2.16.

As the submission substance is of high hydrophilicity, no further testing is required. In addition, the high molecular weight of the humate ligand (approximately 5000 g/mol) strongly indicates low bioconcentration potential.

Adsorption

According to Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex VIII, No. 9.3.1., Column 2, adsorption/desorption screening does not need to be conducted if the substance has a low potential for adsorption. As the submission substance is of high hydrophilicity, no testing is required.

The main components of the submission substance are of inorganic nature, are highly hydrophilic and will ultimately dissociate into ions. The organic complex ligand humate, which comprise <1% (w/w) of the submission substance, also is highly hydrophilic, with a logPow of -2.16. A study performed to determine Koc for the humic acid, potassium salt revealed a very low absorption coefficient.

As the submission substance is of high hydrophilicity, no further testing is required.
