Additional information

NMDA is known as water soluble and stable in aqueous solution. This is in accordance with substances of similar chemical structure. Amines are generally known to be resistant to hydrolysis. Therefore, the substance is not expected to undergo hydrolysis under environmentally relevant conditions. One study is available for the substance which shows that the substance is readily biodegradable. No studies are available to determine the bioaccumulation and the adsorption/desorption potential of the substance. However, NMDA is determined to be readily biodegradable and has a predicted low log Kow (1.82). On this basis it is expected that NMDA has a low potential for bioaccumulation and adsorption. Due to the strictly controlled conditions of use and the limited exposure to the environment no further studies were considered necessary. A detailed justification is attached to this dossier.
