Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Skin irritant.

Additional information

No experimental data on the skin and eye irritation potential of target substance was found in literature.

Based on the structural analysis performed by OECD QSAR Toolbox 4.0.0.26167, skin irritation/corrosion inclusion rules by BfR identify aromatic amines and sulphonic acids or their salts as structural alerts. In particular, it is stated that sulphonic salts Na/SO3 seem to be not irritant for 8/10, except when an amine is attached on the aromatic ring.

Target substance is an aromatic ring with sodium sulphonate and two -NH2 as functional groups; thus a potential for skin irritation may not be excluded.

As for the eye irritation/corrosion inclusion rules by BfR, inclusion rules are not met by the target substance; thus a potential or eye irritation may be excluded.

Further information are available in the attachment in IUCLID section 13.2.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on analysis of structural alerts by QSAR tools and available data on structural analogues, the substance is classified as skin irritant, H315, within the CLP Regulation (EC 1272/2008). No classification for eye irritation applies.
