Endpoint:
water solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 105 (Water Solubility)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.6 (Water Solubility)
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
column elution method
Key result
Water solubility:
0.43 mg/L
Conc. based on:
test mat. (dissolved fraction)
Incubation duration:
3 h
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:
7
Remarks on result:
other: mean value
Remarks:
The measurement was conducted in demineralized water. Thus a pH value of 7 can be assumed.
Water solubility:
0.499 mg/L
Conc. based on:
test mat. (dissolved fraction)
Incubation duration:
3 h
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:
7
Remarks on result:
other: flow rate: 25.0 mL/h
Water solubility:
0.369 mg/L
Conc. based on:
test mat. (dissolved fraction)
Incubation duration:
3 h
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:
7
Remarks on result:
other: flow rate 12.5 mL/h
Details on results:
All samples showed very good correspondence. Standard deviation within the samples was very low.
At each flow rate, 5 samples were used for evaluation. For fraction 1 of flow 1 insufficient equilibration was assumed. This fraction was not used for further evaluation therefore.
At each flow rate, the plateau was considered as reached when no tendency (upward or downward) was visible in the concentrations of the samples and no differences ≥ 30% between the samples were detected.
Because the result of flow 2 did not differ by more than 30 % from flow 1 and no increasing solubility was visible, the test was finished after flow 2.
The measurements of the two flow rates were included in the calculation of the mean, since the differences between the measured concentrations did not exceed 30%.
Mean solubility of L-Tyrosine, N-acetyl-3,5-diiodo-O-(4-methoxyphenyl)-, ethyl ester was determined with 0.43 ± 0.06 mg/L.
No observations arousing doubts concerning the accuracy of the results and the validity of the study were made.
Conclusions:
At the plateau, the concentration of L-Tyrosine, N-acetyl-3,5-diiodo-O-(4-methoxyphenyl)-, ethyl ester in water had reached:

0.43 ± 0.06 mg/L at 20 ± 0,5 oC
= 0.43 * 10-3 kg/m3 (SI units)
(mean of two flows)
