First-aid measures

- General advice:

Consult a physician.

- Following inhalation:

Remove from exposure, lie down. Move to fresh air. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If not breathing, give artifical respiration. Immediate medical attention is required.

- Following skin contact:

Wash off with plenty of water. Immediately remove contaminated clothing. Get medical attention.

- Most important symptoms and effects: Causes burns by all exposure routes. Substance is a corrosive material.

- Following eye contact:

Rinse out with plenty of water. Immediately call a doctor.

- Following ingestion:

Do not induce vomiting, consult a doctor as quickly as possible.

Fire-fighting measures

- Suitable extinguishing media:

Sand, dry powder, cement.

- Unsuitable extinguishing media:

water, foam.

- Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:

Combustible, flammable. Dust can form an explosive mixture in air.

- Advice for fire fighter: Stay in danger area only with self-contained breathing apparatus. Prevent skin contact by keeping a safe distance or by wearing suitable protective clothing.

Accidental release measures

- Personal precautions:

Ensure adequate ventilation.

- Protective equipment and emergency procedures:

Protective measures and appropiate working operations should be given priority over the use of personnel protective equipment. Wear safety goggles, protective gloves, protective clothing, breathing filter type AX.

- Environmental precautions:

Do not empty into drains. Risk of explosion.

- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Avoid dust formation. Remove all sources of ignition. Sweep up or vacuum up spillage and collect in suitable container for disposal.

Handling and storage

- Precautions for safe handling:

Do not breathe dust. Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. Do not ingest. Use only in area provided with appropiate exhaust ventilation. Minimize dust generation and accumulation. Take precautionary measures against static discharges. Do not allow contact with water.

- Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities: Store in a dry, well-ventilated place. Keep container tightly closed. Keep away from heat and sources of ignition. Never allow product to get in contact with water during storage. Corrosives area. Flammables area.

Exposure controls / personal protection

1. Technical protection measures: Use explosion-proof electrical/ventilating/lighting/equipment. Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation present. Wear protective  goggles, protective gloves and personnel protective clothing.

2. Organisational protection measures: Provide sufficient personnel protective equipment for persons readily available for use.

3. Hand protection: wear protective gloves.

4. Feet protection: wear protective shoes.

5. Body protection: wear protective clothes.

6. Eye protection: wear protective safety goggles.

7. Respiratory protection: Wear when necessary personnel respiratory equipment with filter type AX.

Stability and reactivity

1. Reactivity

: Vapour/air-mixtures are explosive at intense warming.

2. Chemical stability

: senstitive to moisture.

3. Possibility of hazardous reactions

: Risk of explosion with oxidizing agents, magnesium, nitric acid, hydrogen peroxide, hydrides, zinc, perchlorates, oxides. Exothermic reaction with acid halides, acid hydrides, acids, water, reducing agents.

4. Conditions to avoid

: Heating, open flames, hot surfaces and sources of ignition.

5. Incompatible materials: Acids, Metals and strong oxidizing agents.

6. Hazardous decomposition products: Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and sodium oxides.

Disposal considerations

Waste matrials must be disposed of in accordance with the Directive on waste 2008/98/EC as well as other national and local regulations. Leave chemicals in original containers. No mixing with other waste. Handle uncleaned containers like the substance itself.
