Eyes from adult cattle were obtained from a local abattoir as a by-product from freshlyslaughtered animals. The eyes were excised by an abattoir employee and placed inHanks’ Balanced Salt Solution (HBSS), supplemented with Penicillin/Streptomycin, andtransported to the laboratory on ice packs.
