Type of composition:
boundary composition of the substance
State / form:
liquid
Reference substance:
2-Propenoic acid, 2-methyl-, tetracosyl ester(branched) boundary composition
Reference substance:
2-Propenoic acid, 2-methyl-, tetracosyl ester(branched) boundary composition
Reference substance:
2-Propenoic acid, 2-methyl-, tetracosyl ester(branched) boundary composition
Reference substance:
2-Propenoic acid, 2-methyl-, tetracosyl ester(branched) boundary composition
PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Ready biodegradability of 2-Propenoic acid, 2-methyl-, tetracosyl ester(branched) was investigated during a GLP-compliant study performed using a relevant OECD Testing Guideline 301F. This study concluded that the substance is ready biodegradable.

The octanol-water partition coefficient of the substance was evaluated. It was concluded that the substance has a high Log Kow value (> 4.5), indicating that the substance is potentially bioaccumulative. Since 2-Propenoic acid, 2-methyl-, tetracosyl ester(branched) is not P/vP it is not deemed necessary to further investigate the B properties of the registered substance with additional testing.

2-Propenoic acid, 2-methyl-, tetracosyl ester(branched) does not meet the criteria as T based on available data on human health and environmental toxicity.

Therefore it can be concluded that 2-Propenoic acid, 2-methyl-, tetracosyl ester(branched) does not meet the criteria for classification as PBT or vPvB.
