Additional information

No hydrolysis is expected based on the molecular structure of the components of Isomalt. Furthermore QSAR predictions concerning the biodegradability of the 2 main components of Isomalt as well as data available for the read-across substance Isomaltulose, indicate that the substance is readily biodegradable and therefore hydrolysis is not considered to be the main degradation pathway.
