Description of key information
BCF of pinene oligomers has been estimated using the accepted BCF BAF v3.0 module of the US EPA's EPIWIN v4.0 QSAR programme. Values have been calculated based on the lower bound of its measured Log Kow value (6.5) and its EPIWIN QSAR calculated Log Kow (9.29).

As noted in ECHA’s R.11 guidance the relationship between BCF and Log Kow becomes non-linear above Log Kow = 6, and it is known that an assumption of linearity where Kow is >>6 can overestimate BCF. However validity of pinene oligomers BCF estimation is supported by available information on close analogues and it is concluded that the BCF indicator for bioaccumulation potential of pinene oligomers is within the range 175 – 6295 l/kg and is likely to be closer to the lower bound of this range than the upper.
